Internet connection drops - "local only"
Hi, I am using my laptop with Windows Vista Business and during the last few months, my internet connection keeps dropping (which comes up "local only" then I would access the internet for a short time before dropping off again. I am getting really frustrated and is there a way to resolve this problem? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Claire

You could try uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it. If that doesn’t cure the problem, go to the manufacturer’s website and/or Windows update and look for an updated adapter driver.

Are you connecting wireless or cabled? As the pervious post said try re-installing the drivers for your network card. Also check the DHCP settings on your card(s). If using cabled check that your card is set to use the correct speed etc to the router i.e. 100Mbps full duplex or auto-negotiate. If you're using wirless check those speed settings too. 802.11 etc. Good luck. Barry
